Art Series: Frieze New York

London-born Frieze Art Fair returned to New York this past weekend bringing together some of the most progressive contemporary art galleries from around the world. Situated on the remote Randall’s Island Park overlooking the East River, Frieze New York showcased the works of more than 1,000 of the world’s leading artists. Over 190 galleries participated in the event with some of New York’s most notable galleries choosing to highlight major artists in solo booths: Gagosian (Edward Ruscha), Gavin Brown’s enterprise (Rirkrit Tiravanija), Gladstone (Carroll Dunham) and Marian Goodman (Danh Vo).  For the third consecutive year, Frieze New York successfully transformed Randall’s Island Park into an innovative and artistic haven for art collectors and students alike.
